HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO ATTEND ROOSEVELT HIGH SCHOOL?

Roosevelt High School is a public school in Randburg, Johannesburg.

However, the fees are still quite high.

The school is classified as quintile five, which means it is fee-paying and the fees are set by the school as state funding alone does not cover its costs.

As per the school’s official website, the fees for 2026 are not easily accessible with those parents interested in sending their children to the school, asked to send an email to the finance department for fees.

The most recent fees that are listed are for the 2023 year.

R4 000 is payable when the child is accepted into the school. The school offers a variety of different sports including soccer, netball, squash, softball, rugby, archery and more.

THE CONTROVERSY SURROUNDING THE SCHOOL

The school has come under scrutiny after the events that took place at the school’s recent Matric Dance.

Learners reportedly arrived under the influence of alcohol and drugs, and had threatened staff with firearms during their procession.

There was also reckless driving into the venue. On top of that, there were intoxicated learners, who became violently ill and vomited in the venue.

Roosevelt High School principal Cristèl Venter was praised for her no-nonsense approach in handling the events that took place at the Matric Dance.
