WATCH: SA cricketer in physical confrontation

In ugly scenes that have come to light on social media, Emerging SA cricketer Tshepo Ntuli and Bangladesh Emerging batsman Ripon Mondol were seen going to head to head in a physical altercation during this week’s four-day fixture in Dhaka.

Ripon reportedly hit Ntuli for a six just before the incident kicked off, although it’s unclear what really led to the angry response as the SA cricketer confronted Mondol, pulled him by the helmet and also pushed him later on as the umpires sought to intervene.

It’s also reported that on the next ball, Mondol defended the ball back to Ntuli, who apparently threw the ball angrily back at the batsman, forcing him to use his bat to avoid being hit.

“This is extreme, this is unacceptable. Normally we see verbal altercations in a cricket field but we don’t often see a scuffle. Ntuli struck Ripon’s helmet at one point,” said match commentator Nabil Kaiser.
