Orlando Pirates supporters are over the moon to see the return of star player Relebohile Mofokeng on Wednesday evening during the Buccaneers’ 3-1 win over Golden Arrows.
The 21-year-old was out for a month due to an injury he sustained against Siwelele and had to miss several important matches for both club and country.
On Wednesday, “President ya ma 2K” was introduced in the second half and provided an assist to Yanela Mbuthuma, who scored Pirates’ third goal of the night.
His coach, Abdeslam Ouaddou, praised the youngster, calling him a special player.
“It’s fantastic to see him back in our team. Especially when you give him 15 minutes, he gives all his best. “You see he gave the assist. It’s a special player for us.”

Pirates supporters have been calling for Mofokeng’s return for weeks and on Wednesday, they finally saw their favourite player back in action.

@blaq_maestro wrote: “Nah guys swallow your pride and stop comparing your youngster to Rele Mofokeng, the football IQ on the boys head is on another level. He is a joy to watch.”
@SbuMasang wrote: “Mofokeng has just done something we have never seen in the history of South African football.”
Having impressed against Arrows, it remains to be seen if the Pirates coach will start with Mofokeng on Saturday against Richards Bay in the semi-final of the Carling Knockout Cup.
Fans will hope to see the winger in the field from now until December when the PSL takes a break.
“Relebohile Mofokeng has been out injured for a while, comes back and still makes these types of passes. What a player.” @Sheldon_RS17 tweeted.
