All Blacks captain Ardie Savea shows love to SA ahead of Boks clash

All Blacks captain Ardie Savea has shown love to South Africa – and shared how he really feels about playing the Springboks on home ground – in an endearing TikTok video.

The New Zealand national team player was called up to lead the squad in June.

Savea is known for his close friendship with Boks captain, Siya Kolisi.

ARDIE SAVEA SHOWS LOVE TO SOUTH AFRICA

In a TikTok video, Ardie Savea was quizzed on how he felt about playing the Springboks in South Africa.

The All Blacks captain responded: “It’s tough. It’s one of the hardest places to play”

He added, “The more pressure there is, the better you can push yourself past your limits. So I love the pressure.

Savea’s video featured all the makings of a perfect homegrown rugby match – South Africa’s unofficial anthem, Sister Bethina, scenes of sold-out stadiums and, of course, die-hard supporters.

“See you soon, fam”, he added in the comments section.

Ardie Savea has often spoken up about his strong friendship with Springboks captain Siya Kolisi, whom he refers to as a “brother”.

Despite playing for rival countries, the rugby heroes have mutual respect and admiration for each other. This extends to banter on and off the pitch.

Savea said of playing Kolisi: “I always try to smash Siya because he is a good mate of mine.”
