Kaizer Chiefs’ Midfield Madness: Four leave, three leaving, new number 10?

Kaizer Chiefs’ midfield overhaul is well underway.

Kaizer Chiefs have parted ways with Sabelo Radebe, Njabulo Blom (defender and defensive midfielder), Mduduzi Mdantsane and Yusuf Maart.

Meanwhile, THREE more Amakhosi midfielders are heading out of Naturena.

CHIEFS NEW-LOOK MIDFIELD TAKES SHAPE

Amakhosi have released four midfielders so far – Radebe, Blom. Mdantsane and Maart.

Meanwhile, Edson Castillo, Tebogo Potsane and George Matlou all face likely exits.

However, it’s not all doom and gloom in the Chiefs midfield. Amakhosi recently signed Ethan Chislett and they have identified some big-name transfer targets.

Interestingly, Chislett’s preferred jersey number is the number 10.

“[I am a] versatile midfielder, can sit deep, play further forward and wide right, even striker a few times, although more in a ‘false 9’ role. I like to cut in from the left onto my right foot, but if I had to define my best position, it would be a ‘number 10’,” he told the media.

Chiefs are linked with these Bafana Bafana targets in the midfield.

AMAKHOSI AFTER ATTACKERS

Chiefs want to sign another attacker or two.

Specifically, an attacking midfielder and possibly another striker.

“As much as the team is believed to be looking at releasing strikers, they are still looking at signing at least one more attacking midfielder. They are talking about a winger or another number 10. I think that could be last signing for this window,” the insider stated on SNL.

Meaning, Chiefs are in the market for another attacking player or more attacking players.
