Is R15 million enough for Maart?

Central midfielder Yusuf Maart, well-respected by the Kaizer Chiefs squad, is taking his opportunity to move to Europe just before his 30th birthday. The industrious midfield man has made the switch to Austrian Bundesliga side SV Ried for a fee in the region of €725k (R15 million). That might sound like a decent figure for the club, but let’s do a quick projection exercise. Let’s assume SV Ried keeps Maart for a year and then opts to sell him to a much wealthier club. What sort of fee could they attract? At least triple what they paid Chiefs for his services?
