DStv is offering a significantly reduced premium package – where rugby fans can watch the Springboks on SuperSport channels, amongst others – in its new restructured package. But there’s a catch….
DSTV PREMIUM OFFER – WATCH THE SPRINGBOKS AT A DISCOUNTED RATE
Over the past few days, DStv has confirmed news of its new package restructuring system.
The pay-per-view TV company, which falls under Multichoice and was recently acquired by French media giant Canal+, has promised viewers more bang for their buck with the introduction of new channels.
One of the biggest drawcards is the discounted price of the premium package, which includes SuperSport channels that have exclusive broadcast rights to Springboks and Proteas matches, as well as Formula 1, MotoGP, and international tennis and golf tournaments.
DStv has dropped the price of DStv Satellite to R799 per month, which includes an access fee – provided customers commit to a 24-month contract. This means that subscribers will enjoy a price lock for two years, but are bound by the contract.

Should Satellite Premium viewers not commit to a 24-month contract, they will still enjoy a discounted rate at R979 per month, with an access fee now included, or R799 on DStv stream (requiring an internet connection).

DStv has also shared new details about their package tiers, some of which include new channel line-ups at discounted prices.
The switchover will take effect on 17 September, and existing subscribers will be automatically migrated to the new package.
DStv have merged several channels to refine their lineups, in an effort to reduce repeats and offer new, fresh content.
