SASSA beneficiaries now have confirmed payment dates for the final three months of 2026.
The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) generally pays Older Persons Grants first, followed by Disability Grants and then Children’s Grants – as well as all other grants – on the final day.
The payment schedule for the rest of 2026 is as follows:
October payments
The next major payment cycle begins with the Older Persons Grant on Friday, 2 October.
Disability Grant beneficiaries will only be paid on Monday, 5 October, followed by Children’s Grant beneficiaries on Tuesday, 6 October.
SASSA has also allocated a fourth payment day in certain months for beneficiaries whose grants are subject to review or eLife certification. In October, this falls on Wednesday, 7 October.
November grants
In November, Older Persons Grant beneficiaries will receive their payments on Tuesday, 3 November.
Disability Grant payments follow on Wednesday, 4 November, while Children’s Grants will be paid on Thursday, 5 November.
December payment dates
The December schedule starts on Wednesday, 2 December, when Older Persons Grant beneficiaries are due to receive their money.
Disability Grant payments will follow on Thursday, 3 December, with Children’s Grants paid on Friday, 4 December.
Staggered payments
SASSA’s payment system is deliberately staggered to avoid congestion and to ensure payments are made as early in the month as possible.
The agency has also stressed that beneficiaries do not have to withdraw their money on the day it is paid as funds remain available in their accounts after the payment date.
How much will beneficiaries receive?
Following increases introduced in April 2026, the Older Persons Grant and Disability Grant are R2 400, while the Child Support Grant is R580.
The Care Dependency Grant is also R2 400, while the Foster Child Grant is R1 290 and the War Veterans Grant is R2 420.
The R370 SRD grant follows a separate payment system, with individual payment dates rather than the three-day schedule used for the permanent social grants.
Beneficiaries should check their personal SASSA status for their specific SRD payment date.
With the September payment cycle already completed, beneficiaries can now plan around the confirmed dates for the final quarter of the year.
