Pitso Mosimane names final Bafana squad to face Kenya

Bafana Bafana head coach Pitso Mosimane has announced his final squad for the upcoming 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers against Kenya.

South Africa will face Kenya twice in the space of four days, with the first encounter scheduled for Friday, 13 November, at Orlando Stadium before travelling away for the return fixture on Tuesday, 17 November.

Bafana have made a perfect start to their qualifying campaign, collecting six points from their opening two matches against Guinea and Eritrea.

They currently sit at the top of their group and will be looking to strengthen their position with back-to-back victories over Kenya.

One of the talking points from Mosimane’s Bafana squad announcement was the inclusion of Siyanda Ndlovu.

The Bafana coach explained that Ndlovu’s selection is part of the national team’s long-term vision, stressing the importance of recognising and encouraging players who have made significant contributions.

“We acknowledge what your contributions are. We need to encourage him. We are not saying you are going to be part of the team. We have a Vision 2030,” Mosimane explained.
